Vacation!

It's the beginning of a week-long summer vacation for me! This morning I got up and made Steve some whole wheat pancakes (see pancake man above). Later on today we will drive up to Grover Hot Springs to camp for a couple days. Our camping gear is all packed and we are almost ready to hit the road! Check back later for some camping pics.

In the meantime, check out some of the latest pictures of our vegetable and herb garden. It's starting to take off like crazy, especially the radishes and Zucchini. Click here to see our garden pics!

2009 AIDS WALK

OMG! Is it really that time again? I've been so busy with the move to our new home and with work that I almost forgot to ask you all to sponsor me this year! Sooooooo...... please find it in your hearts (and wallets) to sponsor me despite the tough economic times. I know it's rough out there but it's even rougher for the men, women and children who are still dealing with HIV and AIDS. Your donation is very much appreciated! Click here to sponsor me.

Salser-Smith Farms begins!

Steve and I decided to start a vegetable and herb garden so we can harvest some of our favorites. We started with beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, peppers, radishes, oregano, cilantro, zucchini, rosemary, spearmint, and peppermint. We plan to add chard and other stuff after we make sure that vegetables will actually grow in our garden. Click here to see pictures of our garden.

Roses from our garden

Steve and I did our first bit of gardening at Isabella Lane this morning. We started by "dead-heading" the rose bushes. Basically, you chop off all the dead buds so that the new flowers will grow more beautifully. These beauties are some of the various flowers that our rose bushes produce. Enjoy!

Home sweet home!

Steve and I have made it into our new home on Isabella Lane. We are still very busy unpacking and organizing, but it feels so good to be HOME! Click here to see a few pictures. I'll take more pictures after we have had time to clean and organize the place...and buy some furniture!

Happy Easter!

Steve and I spent spring break together and had a great experience at Solage Spa in Calistoga. In addition to our mud bath, massage, and fine dining, we also had time to do a whole lot of wine tasting.

Click here to see the Calistoga pictures.

To top off our week of bliss together, we did some biking and watched some movies. It was a truly successful vacation.

Happy Easter to all my peeps (not the nasty marshmallow kind).

Blue skies, where are thee?

Happy Sunday! Or, happy Oscar day!

It's raining here in the east bay area. It will be raining all day, all night, tomorrow and the next day, if you believe the forecasts. I was going to spend the day with Steve and have dinner with some of his friends tonight. However, he has contracted one of those horrible bugs that have been going around and will be staying indoors today. I will be thinking good thoughts of him all day. :)

So, I will switch to my alternate plans for the day: grocery shopping and Oscar watching. The Academy Awards used to be a three-hour event. Now, it's on all day! E Television and some other cable channels are "live from the red carpet" with interviews and dish about what the start are going to wear, etc. Why not read a book, you say? Because I like to read in the morning, on the train, and at night before I go to bed. I get too distracted and antsy if I try to read during the day.

Anyway, on with the day....
